Ku-ring-gai Stealers Baseball and Softball Club Inc Inc is a friendly, well organised and inclusive, Baseball and Softball club, located on the upper north shore of Sydney, Australia.

Established in 1977, Stealers was Awarded the inaugural  ‘Baseball Australia Club of the Year 2006‘ award and is now a 500 member strong club providing the opportunity for children and adults to play the game of Baseball and Softball.

Baseball – Juniors

Boys and girls from ages 4 to 17 are welcome in Baseball as well as senior Ladies and Men of all ages over 16 and girls and Ladies are welcome in Softball

In Baseball, our junior players start by playing Hawk T-ball (Modified Baseball) from under 5’s to under 7s.

From ages 8 and 9  they play Zooka ball using a  pitching machine. This also includes U10 players that are not graded into the A team.

From ages 10 ‘A’s’ to 18 they play live pitch baseball. U19’s and over play senior baseball.

Junior Stealers play in the Ryde-Hawks Baseball League Association (RHBL) against Kissing Point Angels in Sth Turramurra, Rangers in Hornsby, Thornleigh, Greenway Giants in Cherrybrook, North Ryde Rams, Macquarie Saints , Concord Comets, Five Dock Falcons, Tigers in Ermington and Boomers in Leichardt.

Games are played on Saturday mornings from September to March with a five or six week break for Christmas school holidays and with a Friday evening comp for A grade teams in the under 12’s, 14’s and under 16’s (see Friday Evening competition)

Games range in duration from 1 hour for under 5-7’s for T-Ball to 2 hours for under 16’s and under 18’s Baseball.

Ryde Hawks Baseball League is affiliated with the NSW Baseball League which is in turn affiliated with the Australian Baseball Federation who is in turn affiliated with the global governing body (International Baseball Federation – IBF).

Baseball – seniors

Stealers also offer a seniors competition for players aged 16 and upwards.

The Seniors competition is run through the Pacific Coast Baseball League and competition ranges from A grade down to G grade.

Each grade is divided into a division 1 and a division 2 team. Generally Stealers will enter both a division 1 and division 2 team for various grades.

Division two plays the early game [1.30 – 3.30] and Division one plays the later game [3:45 – 5:45] in summer.

All training for baseball and softball happens at our home ground at Esk St, Wahroonga – Golden Jubilee Baseball Park

Softball

Softball is open to all ages, 4 – 84.  We have teams in two competitions.

Winter NSDSA competition (played at St Ives Village Green) – North Shore District Softball Association

Competition runs from April to Sept.  All games are held at the St Ives Village Green…juniors (school age) in the morning, and ladies (15 to 84yo ) grade in the afternoon.  All abilities.  Bring a friend, bring a team of friends… all are very welcome.

Summer HDSA competition (played at Hayes Oval Galston). – Hornsby District Softball Association

Competition runs from September to March.  All games are held at the Hayes Oval in Galston…juniors (school age) in the morning, and ladies (15 to 84yo ) grade in the afternoon.  All abilities.  Bring a friend, bring a team of friends… all are very welcome.

Training night for Softball is on Thursday evenings during the season up at our beautiful home grounds of Golden Jubilee Playing Fields, Esk Street North Wahroonga.   Want to be involved, but can’t quite play anymore?  We warmly welcome anyone wanting to help coach, manage, score or be involved in both associations umpiring programs.
